[VIDEO] High Chai and Social: Sweet Indulgence for Mom

WATCH: Mother’s Day High Chai Event in Surrey

We had the pleasure of taking part and sponsoring the first ever Mother’s Day High Chai event in Surrey at the Royal King Banquet Hall. There was a line up to get in on time at noon. Mothers, grandmothers, daughters, aunties were all dressed up for this special event. It was also great to see men at the event escorting their loved ones. Upon entering, each lovely lady was given a rose and provided an opportunity to take a photo against the High Chai backdrop.

The entryway was filled with the breathtaking presence and beautiful violin music played on stilts by Alli Rice.

Fashion and tasty treat vendors lined the foyer leading a path to the ballroom. It was a great way to get to know some of the local products and services in the neighbourhood and pick up an item or two for mom (or yourself)!

The ballroom was opulent with a fresh spring inspired theme courtesy of Universal Decor. The focal point of the room was the whimsical and colourful sweet treat buffet. From cakes and candy to pastries and edible fruit art, there were plenty of Mother’s Day indulgences! Lunch was a mix of east and west including an array of salads and sandwiches and of course, curry. There were also plenty of vegetarian options.

Among the entertainers were the Shiamak Dance Team and a gorgeous fashion show by House of Farola featuring Broken Halo Boutique jewelry. Musical guest Daksh Kubba who performed alongside the catwalk during the fashion show. We loved that mothers of all ages and their little ones were featured on the runway. There was also a dynamic live auction and prizes packages that added a little bonus to the day.

Mother’s Day High Chai was presented by Citara Events and partial proceeds raised from the High Chai event were donated to the Hanna and Amelia Foundation. High Chai was a well organized event and my mom enjoyed the afternoon along with us. It truly was a memorable day. Surrey604 was proud to support and sponsor such an event and we are looking forward to High Chai next year!
