We have good news for you, Whalley! Urbanfibre will be introducing high-speed internet to your community in the next few months starting with commercial customers. Residential communities will have access to service before the end of the year.

Urbanfibre is proud to mention that the internet speeds will be 1,000 Mbps, which is 66 times faster than the Canadian average and close to 10 times quicker than Telus or Shaw’s internet speeds. Customers will be able to stream as much ultra high definition video they desire which is beneficial to households with multiple people using the internet at the same time.

Interesting Facts About Urbanfibre

Urbanfibre is a telecommunications company that stated it is one of the first internet providers to bring 1,000 Mbps speeds to users. It offers a full suite of voice, broadband application products, video, and the internet. A majority of its customers are public sector, commercial and residential users.

The company services internet in Surrey, South Vancouver, New Westminister, Coquitlam, Burnaby, and Port Moody. In the future, Urbanfibre will extend to Vancouver Island, Whistler, Squamish and North Vancouver.

The Vice President of Products at the company stated: “We continue to expand our footprint into new areas like Surrey in order to meet the growing consumer demand for better Internet, faster download and upload speeds, unlimited data transfer and more responsive customer service.”
