The Canucks, NHL playoffs, UFC: where to watch sports in Surrey

The Canucks, NHL playoffs, UFC: where to watch sports in Surrey

It’s almost playoff time again (how’d that happen?) Which can mean only one thing, where can you find the best seat at the bar for a beer and a view of the game?

1. Tap House
(15330 102a Ave)

Multi level brew pub, great selection of craft brews and cocktails. They have a 19ft high central screen, plus almost too many other TVs to count (actually 35 manager Shawn Hayne informs us) in different locations, so you always have a view of the action. And when the playoffs come around, Hayne says, “We have one of the biggest screens anywhere.”

2. Wild Wing
(7322 King George Hwy)

Wild Wing (7322 King George Hwy) Nothing goes better with watching sports on TV than chicken wings, obviously a Wild Wings specialty. For viewing they have two large projectors and eight TVs.

3. Fox & Fiddle
(919530 Langley Bypass)

two big screens and 10 flat screens, the Fox & Fiddle is hard to out do for all sports viewing and the NHL playoffs are no exception. “We usually some sort of special, like a burger and brew and also T-shirt giveaways,” says bartender Chris Bifran, about popular sports viewing nights.

4. Central City Brew Pub
(11411 Bridgeview Dr)

Bills itself as the Lower Mainland’s best sports Pub. TVs galore, regular UFC PPV events, and of course the NHL playoffs always brings in a crowd.

5. Baseline’s pub
(#100 8233 166th St)

Specializes in their own craft brew, but it’s a nice large space to watch a big game, or just to catch the Canucks any night of the week, and enjoy a fine beer.
