Legendary Chef Vikram Vij Collaborates with Trading Post Brewing

Vij’s first beer recipe to complement Indian Cuisine

Award-winning chef, sommelier and now brewer, Vikram Vij is launching his first collaboration with Trading Post Brewing (Trading Post). “Vikram’s Weissen” is an amalgamation of his love of traveling and a passion for pairing Indian cuisine with drinks that complement the exotic spices and the aromas.

Working closely with Brewmaster Tony Dewald at Trading Post Brewing, Vij creates an unparalleled brew that not only pairs perfectly with your favourite curry, but one that will awaken your taste buds. Saaz hops, coriander and orange orange, purest water, total passion and lots of love come together for this exciting brew.

“I’ve been wanting to create something very special with a local brewery for some time now, and along with the team at Trading Post, we’ve created a beer that is a great partner to any dish, but especially to a fantastic curry!” says Vij.

“In keeping with our core values of community and innovation, we are excited to be working with Vikram on this collaborative beer. Vikram and Tony are both pillars in their communities and we are excited to bring them together to create this amazing Weissen beer!” adds Lance Verhoeff, General Manager and Co-founder of Trading Post.

Vikram’s Weissen will be available at Trading Post and at My Shanti – Vikram’s South Surrey restaurant. The brew will expand to his other restaurants, Vij’s and Rangoli in the near future and hopes of it being available at liquor stores.

Vikram Vij was born in India in 1964 and lived in New Delhi and Bombay until the age of 20, when he went to study, live and work in Austria. There he received his chief certificate and return to Canada in 1989.
