Family Sunday

Drop in and enjoy a fun-filled Family Sunday of artmaking, storytelling, and performances!

Create art with exhibiting artists and art educators that explore the theme “Sensing the Land” in connection with our Ground Signals exhibition. Interactive dance performances await you at 1pm or 2:30pm. Everyone is welcome at this free event—children must be with an adult.

Artmaking Activities

Engage your senses as you step into Ground Signals featuring paintings, videos, sculptures, and audio recordings that reconsider our relationship to land and water. Weave a wearable book with Roxanne Charles whose large, collaborative installation of sound, plywood, and woven panels greets you as you enter the Gallery. Listen to Marie Côté’s ceramic bowls with songs and sounds from nature, and let her work inspire you as you collaborate with her on a clay painting in our art studios and sculpt your very own listening vessel to take home. Make sure to visit Brandon Gabriel’s art station where he’ll share stories and you’ll get to work with pastels and stencils, riffing off his vibrant painting in the exhibition that documents his epic canoe journey.

Performances

Join a dance mash-up with The Wild Moccasin Dancers and Streetrich Hip Hop Society at 1 pm and 2:30 pm in the Studio Theatre. Both groups will teach you some dance moves! Pick up your free tickets on arrival.

Community:

Close Look Got Talent

We are Close Look United Foundation (CLU Foundation) a registered non profit society. One of our society’s purposes is to promote people through their talent, success and lifestyle stories so that others are motivated and inspired. This is done by showcasing them on TV, Magazine and live Events.

Our “Close Look Got Talent” event will set a platform for young musicians, writers, artists and performers. This initiative will give youth the productive and positive direction, rather than getting involved in drugs, crime and social exclusion. This event will promote awareness, diversity and equality through arts and culture in the community.

Everyone will be given equal chance to showcase their performance and qualify for a scholarship. There will be dance, singing, inspirational and various other art categories. Our very own youth writers for the magazine will also be acknowledged and awarded.
