4. Halloween in the Forest

Dress up for some fun at Halloween in the Forest! Bring your family and friends to this indoor/outdoor event and:

  • Meet the Forest Fairy and her forest creature friends
  • Check out our “Pumpkin Path” scavenger hunt
  • Learn about bats, owls and spiders
  • Carve a pumpkin (while supplies last)

5. Haunted Farm Family Day

A shadowy barn, creaky floorboards, rustling trees – visit our haunted farm if you dare! Haunted Farm Family Day shares old-time All Hallow’s Eve traditions, crafts and spooky treats.

6. Halloween Howl Pool Parties

Come practice your tricks and treats with us and have a good time in the pool! There will be games and activities for everyone to enjoy. Regular admission applies.

7. Halloween Skates in Surrey

Grab your wand or broom and head out to one of our fun haunted public skates! This spooktacular event will have fun games and a costume contest. Suitable for all ages. Regular admission applies.

8. Spooktacular Newton

Complete with trick-or-treating, petting zoo, kid fun zone, face painting, food trucks and a haunted train, Spooktacular Newton has something for everyone. Don’t miss the special dance performances by the Surrey Dance Company, and kickback with some popcorn in our spook theatre. And don’t forget to grab your free pumpkin by donation on your way out, all proceeds going to the Surrey Food Bank. Be sure to come in your costume!

9. Bear Creek Haunted Forest Scream Train

Each child who paid an admission will receive a treat to enjoy on the pumpkin express train as it travels through the decorated forest.

As they depart from their adventure they will be given a child size pumpkin to remember their day. (Adults and children under 2 years old do not receive pumpkins)

Cost: $11.00 per person – Adult or Child (2 years old – 12 years old) including tax.

10. The Pumpkin Patch

Enjoy a hayride down to our pumpkin fields and pick out your own pumpkin, or choose from an assortment of already-picked pumpkins.

Hay wagon rides go from 10:00-6:00 on weekends, holidays and professional days, and 3:00-6:00 on weekdays throughout October.

We also have mini-pumpkins, gourds, cornstalks and hay bales available for sale at the farm stand. Don’t forget your winter veggies from our general store!  Finish off your day with a visit to our cows and chickens.

TIPS FOR YOUR PUMPKIN PATCH VISIT:
  • If you want to get your pumpkin from the field, plan at least an hour for your visit.
  • We have parking available on our farm, with overflow parking on the road. But make sure to check our lot first!
  • Make sure you visit our cows and chickens – children love to see our animals up close.
  • The best time for families with young children to visit is on weekdays from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.   We find that visiting the Pumpkin Patch while things are quieter will help your toddler have a more enjoyable experience!

11. Great Pumpkin Run Walk

Come join 1500 runners and walkers to raise money for a new all abilities, all ages playground. Have fun with Creative Kids Zone and the pancake breakfast! We’re also introducing the Peace Arch Toyota Haunted House to get you into the spooky Halloween spirit.

A play: For the Pleasure of Seeing Her Again

This funny, nostalgic, and bittersweet play pays homage to the playwright’s colorful, down-to-earth mother. Be transported in time to five different stages of their lives together, with a bird’s-eye view of their tumultuous and loving relationship.

The Canada Show:

The Complete History of Canada in One Hour

Three bickering historians—one English (Alex Gullason), one French (Carly Pokoradi), and one First Nations (Frankie Cottrell)—battle to tell their version of Canadian history. With song and sketch comedy they pair pop culture references with historical happenings. It’s 60 laugh-packed minutes!

Guildford Jazz Festival 2017

Featuring many UK and international acts, the event will create a vibe reminiscent of something between the Cork Jazz festival Ireland and London’s South Bank.

The Guildford Jazz Festival 2017 will be the first of a new annual event set in Guildford in collaboration with Guildford Borough Council and Experience Guildford.

The festival will be a mixture of traditional and contemporary jazz, as well as both gospel and new talent showcases from Guildford itself and all around the UK. Guildford Jazz Festival will engage the local community as a whole, and providing a mix of both free public entertainment and ticketed events that will be suitable for the whole family and various generations of music lovers. It will utilise various locations across the town, including the notable landmarks such the Tunsgate Arch, Guildford Castle, the cobbled High Street and the newly re-furbished Village Guildford.

School’s out on Friday, October 20! Plan ahead and keep your kids active and busy for the day. We have a variety of ways to keep kids entertained with our city-wide School’s Out Fun Zone, activities at our pools and arenas, or a Discovery Day at Surrey Nature Centre.

Fun Zone

Camps include age appropriate programming for children ages 6 to 12 years. Activities include sports, arts, crafts, music, dance and games. Please check with the recreation facility in your community for specific details. Camp Connections are available for extended camp hours.

All Fun Zone camps run from 9 am to 3 pm and cost $30.50.

Tree to Our Nature Canada 150 Celebration
