Right now, animals are waiting for you. What could be a better time to adopt an animal than now? Whether it’s a dog, a cat or even a rabbit, you can rescue one of these precious animals and give them the life they deserve.
The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the lives of domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Lives which they aim to protect and enhance.
With various locations across BC, they provide shelter for more than 37,000 animals each year. By
adopting an animal, you will save a life. While many people take the route of adopting dogs or cats from breeders, usually for a specific type, they don’t realize that the dogs and cats at shelters are in a desperate need for a home. The SPCA does their best to not euthanize animals. They’re a very trustworthy organization and it’s great that they have many different locations in the Lower Mainland!
Today, it’s time for a change. The SPCA is excited about their new plans, which involves relocating their operations to a new area in Surrey. They have purchased 5.5 acres of land and the new centre will be the site of leading-edge programs and services. The phase will be complete by summer 2012. Perfect timing! Why not celebrate this change by helping a furry little friend? Check out the nearest branch here.
The BC SPCA pledge five essential freedoms for their animals when they are adopted out:
1. Freedom from hunger and thirst
2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease
3. Freedom from distress
4. Freedom from discomfort
5. Freedom to express behaviors that promote well-being.
This is a great chance for anyone who is thinking of adopting pets. If you want to add an animal to your family, then please visit the SPCA in your area. Visit he main BC SPCA website for more information.
I hope everybody has a great summer, with lots of animal love!
