Most retail phones come with extra bloated software and limitations imposed by your carrier. Luckily, you can install custom ROMs (Read-Only Memories) on your phone. ROMs are low level firmware which contain the operating system and basic applications that make your phone work.

Because Android is an open platform there are literally hundreds of developers working on free custom ROMs for most common models of phones and tablets.

In this video, Josh is going to demonstrate loading a ROM called PAC-man onto a Samsung Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note.

PAC-man ROM is a combination of three popular Super ROMs: Paranoid Android + AOKP + Cyanogenmod = PAC-man. This ROM packs all the tweaks from the three super ROMs into one!
