Following in the footsteps of his Uncle, legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat, keeps Qawwali and Sufi traditions alive, while remaining one of the most popular Bollywood singers. The beautiful stage illuminated when Rahat walked on and began the show, easing the audience with his mesmerizing vocals. He played and sang the traditional Qawwalis as well as some of his other popular Bollywood songs. The homage to the Creator, Allah Hoo, Allah Hoo was powerfully intertwined with beautiful Sufi chants.
Tere Must Must Do Nain brought the audience to their feet while couples danced in the aisle. High in the balcony seats, fans rejoiced, danced and sang along with Rahat. Rahat’s team of singers were absolutely amazing and the energy of the singers and musicians on stage was infectious. In the middle of Tere Must Must Do Nain, two young ladies made their way to the front of the stage and Rahat, putting their hands together as a gesture of respect to the singer (the song was dedicated to one of the girls). There were moments during the concert that were truly spiritual experiences.
