Beautiful colors, vibrant sounds, mouth watering Indian culinary delights, and lots of conversation was the scene at the Indian Summer Festival Opening Gala. I felt as though I had stepped into a scene of a Bollywood movie, right in the middle of the W2 Media Cafe, downtown, Vancouver. Presented by the Indian Summer Arts Society, a not-for-profit organization, have put together a 10 day festival featuring an intimate evening of film and discussion with Bollywood Icon Sharmila Tagore, discussions of culture/identity, film screenings, free Bollywood/Bhangra workshops and much more.

One of the many highlights of the evening included a Chai Bar that had an array of Indian desserts, and celebrity chef Vikram Vij entertaining the crowd with some of his creations.
