Ken Diamond is a seasoned award-winning veteran of the tourism industry in British Columbia. He has spent years working for the Vancouver Trolly Company and Big Bus hop-on, hop-off city tours of Vancouver. He came out of retirement to start his own tour company “West Wagon Tours” based in Surrey.

Since moving to Surrey from Montreal in 1978, Ken has been an avid promoter of Surrey. The “West Wagon Tours” visits lesser known tourist attractions outside Vancouver such as those in Surrey, Fort Langley and New Westminster.

We met Ken during our Paddlewheeler Riverboat Tour along the Fraser River. He partnered with the riverboat company that day providing an option for passengers to hop off in Fort Langley and take a guided tour back home. We opted in.

VIDEO: Surrey Couple Related to Historic BC Explorers Simon Fraser and Jules Quesnel
In this video, Ken explains his family’s relation to Simon Fraser, and his wife’s family’s relation to Jules Quesnel (the City of Quesnel BC’s namesake). Ironically, Simon Fraser and Jules Quesnel were college buddies who eventually made the trek westward to discover British Columbia, and of course the Fraser River – which we sailed down that day – is named after Simon.
