Oct 25, 2013 – Today marks the official groundbreaking of Langley’s newest luxury automotive dealership.
A new 42,000-square-foot Porsche dealership is set to open its doors in fall 2014 as part of the OpenRoad Auto Group.
This dealership will add to the Langley Auto Collection, located at the intersection of Langley Bypass and Glover Road, and will solidify Canada’s first-ever and only luxury auto mall.
Over the last decade, Langley has seen an increasing demand for luxury living to match its significant growth. With the opening of Porsche Langley next fall, potential customers will be able to shop for the brand in their “backyard”, and owners will have the option of not having to cross over the bridge to have their vehicles serviced at an official dealership.
“When we started this project nearly two years ago, we wanted to create more than just a Porsche Retail Centre. We committed to building a unique community here – comprised of passionate people, beautifully engineered cars, exceptional levels of knowledge and passion and an avenue to build on that through motor sports experiences”, said Christian Chia, CEO/President of the OpenRoad Auto Group.
“We are absolutely thrilled to embark on what is no doubt one of the most exciting and promising projects we have ever undertaken.”
The OpenRoad Auto Group already has several other luxury brands in the Langley Auto Collection, including BMW Langley, MINI Langley, OpenRoad Infiniti Langley, and Audi Langley.
In attendance with Christian Chia were Porsche Cars Canada’s new CEO, Alexander Pollich, Langley’s Mayor Ted Schaffer, BC Minister of Education Peter Fassbender, as well as Blair Qualey, President and CEO of the New Car Dealers Assocation of BC.
“What an exciting day for the OpenRoad AutoGroup, Porsche Cars Canada, and the City of Langley. We are thrilled to be breaking ground today in anticipation of the stunning new Porsche Langley Centre, and proud to showcase Canada’s first and only true luxury auto mall”.
This unique area is an example of the city’s vision of the future coming alive through our downtown master plan, and official community plan”, said Langley’s Mayor, Ted Schaffer.
Owners from the Western Canada chapter of the Porsche Club of America also brought their prized Porsches to set the stage for this official groundbreaking ceremony.
“When this building is complete, it will be the home of performance and passion. It will be the place where lovers of iconic sports cars will come together”
“OpenRoad is a family company and we are committed to being the best. To me, that means the best people, the best partnerships, the best products and service, and the best customer relationships. If there is a brand that epitomizes those relationships, it’s Porsche. So it only made sense to work with them to bring their brand to the Fraser Valley”, Mr. Chia says.
