Local B.C. Student to Represent Canada in Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship

Local B.C. Student Anthony Wock to Represent Canada in Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship(Malcolm Knox, President & CEO, CCI Learning, Anthony Wock, Student from Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary, Mat Burke, Account Executive, Microsoft Canada.)

In light of the World Cup, another world championship is about to take place.

The Microsoft Office World Championship, starting on July 27 in Anaheim, California, is an elite competition amongst academic institutions who teach Microsoft Office Specialist certification to students all over the world.

Microsoft Office Specialist certification is the official Microsoft Learning and certification for Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint and OneNote. It is the world’s largest ICT certification and relevant to everyone – given that over 95% of employers standardize in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

This year, half a million students tested their skills in Microsoft Office to enter this competition to determine who will have the honor of representing their country. Of the half million, our Canadian national champion for Powerpoint is Anthony Wock of Samuel Robertson Technical Secondary (SRT) in Maple Ridge!

Anthony took the PowerPoint exam and completed it with a perfect score (100%) inside the 50 minute allotted time… in fact it only took him 17 minutes to complete the exam (Wow!) making him the first student from high school to be named Canada’s National Champion.

Along with being the National Champion, Anthony has won an all-expenses paid trip to Anaheim, CA sponsored by CCI Learning. Every year CCI Learning sponsors the competition and flies the winners to the World Championship. CCI Learning is the Microsoft Academy Service Partner and exclusive Certiport Platinum Solutions Provider for K12 in Canada. Anthony is now revving up to compete against world class competitors for the top spot in PowerPoint.

A local to B.C., Anthony is really excited to be competing in the World Championships. Together with his black belt in Taekwondo, Anthony has the brains and the brawn to kick this competition out of the water.

Congratulations and best of luck to Anthony and the other National Champions representing Canada!
