Gift Ideas: Pamper Someone Special with For the Love of Baths

Meet Madeleine Liceaga, Founder of For the Love of Baths

The holiday season is in full swing and so are the stress levels. Christmas is right around the corner! If you’re looking for great gift ideas, I’m sure there’s a lady in your life who could use some pampering amidst the shopping frenzy. We recently spoke with a lady who is very passionate about self-care, Madeleine Liceaga, the lovely and passionate founder of For the Love of Baths. She believes strongly in self-care, importance of relaxation and indulgence.

For the Love of Baths was born out of love for simplicity and creation. Each and every product is made by Madeleine Liceaga herself, and as she likes to put it, a special ingredient “love” is added into each creation. And whether you try the lotion candles or the hair perfume, one feels a sense of comfort knowing that only the best and most natural products were used to create each item.

For the Love of Baths products are free of chemicals and preservatives and would certainly make a great holiday gift for that special someone in your life.

We sat down and chatted with Madeleine and this is what she had to say.

What makes your bath and body products stand out from others?

I make everything in small batches so all the products are freshly made. They also are Gluten free, most of them are Vegan, NO Parabens, NO Phthalates, NO SLS, We only test our products on friends and family. We are so careful nowadays about what we eat but we should be equally conscious about what we out on our skin, as it will get absorbed as well. My goal is for people to read the list of ingredients in my labels and rest assured that they know what each ingredient is without having too have a degree in Chemistry! I aim to make my products using 5-6 ingredients only.

We saw that Bif Naked is a fan of your products. Which For the Love of Baths products is she using?

We gave her an Inspirational soy candle, a bubble bath block, an essential oil Lotion candle and our Sultry Angel Hair perfume and conditioner.

Lavender Bath Bomb

Your bath bombs look super delicious. What ingredients do you use for them?

We like to think about our bath blocks as A one-way ticket to relaxation and enjoyment!. Coconut oil will have you feeling soft and smooth, and the natural astringent and anti-inflammatory properties of witch hazel will tighten pores and leave you looking fresh and toned. Each block is hand-wrapped in waterproof and recyclable Treeless, stone paper.

Here are the ingredients we use: Baking soda, citric Acid, cornstarch, SLSA*, coconut oil, refined sea salts, witch hazel, fragrance and/or essential oils.
* Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate (SLSA) – (what we use to make Bubbles!) A great alternative to Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. This product is derived from coconut and palm oils, and conforms to Ecocert’s natural and organic cosmetic standard and is 100% of natural origin.

How can one create the best bath experience?

If you are looking for a relaxing bath experience to help you sleep try a Lavender Themed bath. It is better to use essential oils as they have relaxing qualities that the synthetic fragrances do not. Make sure the water is not too hot. Light is important and having candles around your bathroom while you take a bath will help create a nice soothing glow.

You might want to play some soft music and prepare some of your favourite treats, nothing too sugary, maybe some strawberries? Some people enjoy having a glass of wine as well. Once the tub is full of warm water, add your essential oil, salts or oils. Our Bubble bath bliss and blocks are packed with all these soothing ingredients plus more!

You can use your time in the bath to apply a facial mask. Once you have finished your bath, it is a good idea to moisturize your skin. If you have lit your lotion candle now it would be ready to apply some warm soothing lotion all over. Where do you get inspiration for your products? I like the simple things in life and I like to make products that are simple yet infuse you with the beauty of relaxation and indulgence.
