Newton Community Walks 9am Fridays

The Newton BIA would like to present its monthly community walks. Every movement starts with a passionate few that drive change in their neighborhood. As a result, 2015 is Newton’s year to take back its streets and galvanize the community. Newton must take ownership of its future and community buy in is essential to ensure its long term vibrancy and optimism.

Adopt A Street
The Newton BIA has adopted the following streets through the City of Surrey’s Adopt-Street Program:

  • 72nd Avenue from King George Blvd. to 138th Street
  • King George Blvd. from 68th Avenue to 78th Avenue
  • 137th Street from 72nd Avenue to 74th Avenue

Identifying & Reporting Problem Sites
During the Community Walk, the Newton BIA will also be identifying problem sites, such as graffiti, illegal signage, abandoned shopping carts, illegal dumping, problem properties, illegal signage and reporting to the City via the Surrey Requests app.

Want to Get Involved?
The Community Walk is scheduled for the first Friday of every month @ 9am. We will meet at the Newton BIA Office, and all supplies will be provided. If you are planning to join us, we ask that you let us know the Wednesday before a scheduled Community Walk.
