John Wolff, Chair of Surrey Urban Mission Society (“SUMS”), has announced a significant corporate donation to Childrens’ Summer Day Camp.

“Our sincere thanks to Bruce Kehler and Canex Building Supplies for their extraordinarily generous donation to the Mission. This money will go directly to helping the hundreds of children that enjoy the SUMS Summer Day Camps, helping to provide some of Surrey’s less privileged children with summer fun” said Wolfe.

SUMS provides day camp programs to children ages 5 to 13 with the assistance of a grant from Service Canada. The significant and generous contribution from Mr. Kehler and Canex Building supplies will enhance the programs, meals and allow even more of Surrey’s less fortunate children to participate.

The Whalley area of Surrey has one of the highest rates of child poverty in Canada. SUMS Summer Day Camps brings summer fun to the children of families who otherwise could not afford to attend such a program. Now, through the generosity of Bruce Kehler and Canex Building Supplies, even more of Surrey’s children can participate.

SUMS will be hosting a celebration of Mr. Kehlers’ generosity with the children, their parents, Camp Leaders and other community dignitaries.
