6th annual Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival happening this weekend

It’s lights, camera, action for cinephiles attending the sixth annual Vancouver International South Asian Film Festival (VISAFF).

Happening through November 25 to 27 at the Simon Fraser University World Art Centre in Vancouver, the festival boats a night of feature films, documentaries and shorts that celebrate the theme of Bollywood & Beyond.

VISAFF is a non-profit cultural organization whose mission is to bridge the gap between South Asian film creatives and mainstream viewers.

Organizers aim to “educate and inspire audiences by promoting free expression, cross-cultural interactions and understanding, and combating intolerance and stereotypes.”

“Specifically it promotes diverse stories of South Asians through films from Vancouver and the global South Asian Diaspora.”

The three-day festival opens with a pre reception followed by the screening of feature film, “Badman,” produced by Voot-Viacom. Enjoy “glamorous guests, delicious drinks and delectable eats.”

Tickets are still available and can be bought online here.
