And the average household income for people under 35 is approximately $80,000. The report also shows that folks in in Squamish spend $6,000 per year on recreational activity, and the unemployment rate is a low 5.3%.
Unfortunately, Surrey did not make the cut for this year’s top ten. It dropped six points from last year’s report to number 13. Although Surrey’s unemployment rate is only 5.3%, the expected population growth of 7.25% paired with expensive living can be blamed for the drop.
In the next five years, Squamish is projected to increase its population by an impressive 19.49%. With this anticipated increase, real-estate is booming. New developments are going up everyday including a new condominium located right downtown.
