Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

Women’s Entrepreneurship Day

Today is Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) A day to celebrate, support and empower women in business.

So what is this day all about? It’s to simply appreciate women in business! That’s it. There’s nothing to it!

When we think of the city of Surrey specifically there are so many amazing women we can appreciate. Let’s start out with the obvious one.

Mayor Linda Hepner:

That’s right, our entire city is run by this amazing women. Mayor Hepner served on the council for 9 years before being elected mayor in 2014. The Mayor’s works have primarily been focused on providing residents from Whalley to Semiahmoo with opportunities to have jobs and to live a well-balanced life. Her work in as Surrey’s leader should definitely be celebrated, and today is the perfect day to recognize her!

Nira Aurora:

That’s right, Virgin Radio’s morning host calls Surrey home. Aurora has been entertaining the city as a radio personality for years! And when she’s not at the studio, she is known for her volunteering for various charities including The Beat Cares Holiday Toy & Food Drive, BC Children’s Hospital, and the Canuck Place.

Miss 604:

And let’s not forget about our favourite blogger. Miss 604 is also a Surrey girl, and a true entrepreneur. She has been voted 1 best local twitterer in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016! Not to mention she was named one of BC top 100 influencers by the Vancouver Sun.

Now it’s your turn.

Okay, we got the ball rolling but now it’s up to you to nominate an exceptional women entrepreneur. Who do you know that deserves to be featured?

We want to hear from you!

We’d like for folks to nominate Women Bosses in Surrey for a chance to have them showcased on Surrey604. There are so many amazing women out there! Comment below and let us know who you think should be featured. We will pick the winner on November 17, so get your votes in.

Good luck everyone

    Hi there,

I would like to nominate my friend and esteemed colleague Natasha Raey.
Natasha has done much notable work in Surrey and the Lower Mainland in the health and wellness field. She is in senior management with a large health care organization, representing the interests of family physicians in enhancing primary care.
Natasha is also an advocate of women and women’s issues, and co-founder of SheTalks – a platform for women to tell their stories and connect and inspire.
Sitting on the Board of Surrey Women’s Centre is just one of the many, many, MANY ways that Natasha continually uses her entrepreneurship to give back to her community of Surrey and beyond.

    Many thanks.
