Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu in Metro Vancouver. The Most Romantic Concert of 2017

Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu in Metro Vancouver. The Most Romantic Concert of 2017

Bollywood’s talented duo comes to perform at PNE Agrodome on April 30, 2017

On April 30 2017, KVP Entertainers brings another musical romantic treat to Metro Vancouver– Alka Yagnik and Kumar Sanu in concert at PNE Agrodome, Vancouver.

Alka Yagnik has come a long way from singing bhajans (devotional songs) on radio at the age of six, to becoming a seven-times winner of Filmfare Best Female Singer award. As many as twenty of Alka’s tracks feature in BBC’s Top 40 Bollywood Soundtracks of all time. The list of awards and accolades is endless – suffice it to say that Alka is a delight to listen to. My favourite from Alka’s long list of songs is Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna (never say goodbye) from the movie of the same name.

Kumar Sanu, aka Kedarnath Bhattacharya, gave his deep voice to Bollywood movie songs in the 1990s and early 2000s. Sanu’s singing is  inspired by the legendary Kishore Kumar. A 1979 Commerce graduate from Kolkata university, Sanu started with singing at shows and restaurants in the same year. Sanu as well has a long list of awards to his credit. He sang 28 songs in a single day in 1993 to enter the Guinness Book of World Records. My favourite from his long list of songs is from his debut movie – Aashiqui (love) – Bas ek sanam chahiye aashiqui ke liye (Need just one love for love), sung beautifully by Sanu and accompanied by guitar music.

Metro Vancouver’s leading broadcasting and media production company, KVP Entertainers, brings its second event of 2017  – Kumar Sanu and Alka Yagnik with Symphony Orchestra, on the last Sunday of April. Tickets are available on or at Kamal’s Video Palace. Call Kamal Sharma at 604592977 for more information.
