Volunteering and Beyond Event at North Surrey Secondary School September 21st

Volunteering and Beyond Event at North Surrey Secondary School September 21st

Volunteering and Beyond is one of the largest volunteer fairs of its kind held in the Lower Mainland. The event is taking place on September 21st at North Surrey Secondary School (15945 96 Avenue, Surrey) from 5:30PM – 7:30PM.

Over 55 organisations will come together to set-up booths and interact with attendees about various volunteer opportunities. Several prominent community organizations such as City of Surrey, Canadian Cancer Society, YMCA, Habitat for Humanity, Salvation Army, and more will be attending. For a full list of attending organizations, please visit www.youthtransformingsociety.org.

Youth Transforming Society initiated this event in 2014 to generate interest in community service amongst youth and simplify the application process. Students are provided with a diverse range of involvement opportunities, increasing the likelihood of finding an organization (or many) that aligns with their interests and passions.

This event allows both students and parents to ask questions about an organization’s mission, goals, and volunteer opportunities directly to the organization’s representatives. The hope is that after attending Volunteering and Beyond, students will feel less overwhelmed and more inspired to volunteer.

There is no cost to attend this event. Please direct any questions and concerns to youthtransformingsociety@gmail.com.

Surrey is the second largest city in British Columbia and by 2041 it is expected that another 300,000 residents will be joining our neighbourhoods. And we are concerned that if something isn’t put in place soon, we’ll not only be… read more ❯
