Pink Orchid Studio’s Breakfast with Santa

Come celebrate the joys of the season with a festive celebration at Breakfast with Santa. A delicious pancake breakfast will be served with visits from Santa Claus, photos, and a great chance to give back. This year all proceeds will be donted to the Surrey Women’s Shelter. We encourage each family to bring a unwrapped toy for our toy drive. These gifts can make a huge impact and are generously welcomed.

Join us at 10 am sharp to start the festivities! This is a ticketed event, no tickets will be sold at the door. Due to size restrictions we are unable to accommodate late comers.

Christmas Crafting Series – LED Lit Wooden Gift Box

Learn how to make a light up gift box using simple household items! Staining, Ink Stamping, and painting are just some methods to decorate wood. For an extra holiday touch, we will be learning how to use LED’s to give the finished project a lovely glow. All ages welcome, children under 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian.

Frontline Voices presents “Season of Hope”

Frontline Voices and Friends present “Season of Hope”, a Christmas concert of traditional and contemporary carols, featuring excerpts from Handel’s ‘Messiah’. Special guests include David Antoniuk (piano), the Barnson Trio, and the Jeremy Ferland String Quintet.

Christmas Train at Bear Creek Park

Come ride the Christmas Train Bear Creek Park.  Visit with Santa and receive a candy cane, Christmas activity kit and enjoy a train ride through the Christmas forest.  Santa is at the station December 9 – 24th. Admission: $11 + taxes (adults & children).

Very Vintage Christmas

Holiday celebrations are going old-style at the Surrey Museum’s Very Vintage Christmas. Tap your toes while the Society of Versatile Entertainers perform “Magical Christmas” at 1:45, 2:45 & 3:45. There will be plenty of retro holiday games to entertain the family. Help the kids make vintage-style decorations. And don’t forget your camera for a picture with Santa (he arrives at 1:15pm). Please bring a donation for the Surrey Food Bank.

Photos with Santa

Ho-Ho-Ho! Capture your holiday memories and get a festive photo taken with Santa at Central City.  Photos with Santa are offered from November 18 to December 24 at Santa Land, on the south side of the centre near Tim Hortons. All kids that visit Santa will receive a free activity book, hat, and candy cane (while quantities last).

Winter Fest 2017

Out of the Cold Holiday Craft Market

Bring family and friends of all ages to stroll the booths, enjoy holiday treats and purchase quality goods from local artisans and businesses, all for a good cause! There will be music, drinks, snacks and more! Following the craft fair there will be a Chasing Stars dessert theatre production and silent auction. Tickets for this portion of the event can be purchased for $10. This is a fundraising event. This year’s proceeds go towards Nightshift Street Ministries, several local schools, and a children’s orphanage in Albania.

The Electric Express

The Electric Express experience takes place in the station, where there is live music and carols, on a short train ride on a track, followed by a visit to Father Christmas’s workshop in the Car Barn. Each event starts on the hour for 6 events, First event 1000 am last event 3:00 pm.

Charity Gift Wrap Centre

Get your gifts wrapped at the Charity Gift Wrap Centre this holiday season!  Prices start at just $2 and a wide assortment of wrap and bag options are available. The Whalley Santa Cause

This year, the Whalley Santa Cause organizers are asking for donations of new personal hygiene items such as deodorant, tooth brushes, shampoo, conditioner, hair brushes, socks, and so on. Gently used sweaters, scarves and gloves are also highly needed. The Whalley Santa Cause walks as a group. Children under 18 must be with an adult. Sparkling, magical, family fun awaits when we join Sinbad and his wacky crew in a rollicking and hilarious adventure on the high seas. Come sing along with toe-tapping music, groan at corny old jokes, cheer the good guys and boo the bad in this hilariously funny show, as we say farewell to BC’s favorite Dame, Alan Cedargreen, when he wields his wooden spoon for one last time.

Alie Slabenko is a local writer and poet passionate about human rights. She recently completed the New Media Journalism Program at Simon Fraser University. She also holds a Masters in Tax Crimes from Russia and PDD in Marketing from Douglas College in Vancouver. Alie has volunteered for the YVR airport magazine as a creative contributor and written several travel and lifestyle articles for an online Russian magazine. She is a traveler by heart and has visited Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, China, and the USA. In her free time Alie likes to paint, take photographs, write poems, and manage her social justice oriented website. Alie is a human rights advocate who seeks to serve people through her journalistic skills focusing on racism, transgender rights, women rights, and human trafficking.
