The transformation of Surrey’s downtown city centre is quickly gaining momentum.
Civic Plaza is leading the way with a flurry of recent grand openings for Civic Hotel, Dominion Bar + Kitchen, Prado Cafe and the first annual Dominion Day outdoor concert event. Today, we saw more changes as TDH Experiential Fabricators mounted a massive new sign for Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU) Civic Plaza onto the landmark tower.
The City of Surrey was also busy beautifying the plaza today with installations of planter benches for the public to enjoy.
3 Civic Plaza is a $200-million, 52-storey multi-use building in the heart of Surrey’s Civic Plaza which includes a 144-room hotel, 349 condos and five floors of campus space for KPU.
KPU’s five-storey campus is located inside 3 Civic Plaza, right next to Surrey’s new City Hall, and the architecturally iconic City Centre Library. It is proposed to offer programs that include graduate diplomas and certificates in: strategic planning; media and communications; policy, governance and innovation; public relations; emerging market analysis; product development; management sciences; accounting; human resource management; financial analysis; specific business applications, and professional standards
KPU Civic Plaza is envisioned to become a hub for community engagement, collaboration and connection between researchers and Surrey’s health and technology sectors on Innovation Boulevard. There will be 8 teaching classrooms, 2 collaboration classrooms, 2 lecture classrooms, 1 distance learning classroom, and 18 meeting rooms.
