Maple Organics – Canada’s First Organic Pharmaceutical Company Named Finalist for the Surrey Business Excellence Awards
Maple Organics, Canada’s first organic pharmaceutical company has been recognized as a finalist for the 2018 Surrey Business Excellence Awards in the New Business of the Year Category. Organized by the Surrey Board of Trade, the awards program celebrates growing businesses in Surrey that have reached a special point in business success. The Surrey Board of Trade has celebrated Surrey businesses in this way for the past 20 years.
As a Surrey-based company, Maple Organics was co-founded in 2017 by Surrey resident, Rosy Atwal, and her former MBA classmate, Ashley Ward. After seeing a gap in the marketplace of good quality organic products, Rosy and Ashley teamed up to launch the country’s first organic pharmaceutical company.
Maple Organics manufactures and sells organic body care, baby care, pharmaceutical and hair care products with a very unique ingredient, Kokum Butter (derived from a Mangosteen plant). The company is USDA Organic certified their therapeutic products also include Natural Product Numbers licensed by Health Canada allowing them to make medical claims on their efficacy. One of their best-selling products is nature’s version of VapoRub called ‘Cold + Flu Vapor Rub Therapy‘!
Soon after launching, Maple Organics has had opportunities to sell their products at supermarkets nationally and instead, have chosen to solely sell their products through independent wellness consultants.
For Rosy and Ashley, providing flexible career opportunities has been a primary reason for the creation of their business. Rosy and Ashley are passionate about providing flexible career opportunities for women and currently have a strong team of wellness consultants across Canada and will look to expand their team!
