Wild Sweets® represented Canada on the international culinary stage and are releasing
limited edition desserts from world events & competitions
Canada’s most acclaimed sweet chefs, Dominique & Cindy Duby from Wild Sweets®, are launching their World Cake Series in British Columbia on November 24, 2018. As part of the World Cake Series, Wild Sweets® is releasing special edition cakes that have been designed and crafted exclusively for leading world culinary events and pastry championships.
Wild Sweets® collaborated with the Vancouver General Hospital UBC Foundation to preview the cakes by auctioning them off for their annual fundraising event. The official launch of the 2018 World Cake Series will kick off in time for the holiday season. Wild Sweets® are releasing the following two cakes in British Columbia offering consumers a chance to try some of the most delectable sweets in the world:
‘Cirque du Soleil’ Cake from Las Vegas | Designed for the World Pastry Team Championship in Las Vegas, the cake fit the competition theme (Circus) and reflected the Canadian origin of the company by incorporating the ‘soleil’ element through ingredients associated with summer and sunshine.
When it was first released, only two dozen people tasted this cake and ten more people tasted it again at the 2018 VGH UBC Foundation event with their winning bid of $2,000. For more information, please click here.
Masters of Food & Wine in Carmel, California | Known as the ‘mecca’ of the culinary world and attended by culinary icons such as Alice Waters, Thomas Keller, Eric Rippert, Grant Achatz. The Duby’s were the only Canadian pastry chefs invited to participate in the 21-year lifespan of the event. The cake design features a unique blend of savoury elements such as cheese, herbs, tomato as well as sweet ingredients such as strawberry, nuts and chocolate, of course!
Coinciding with the event, the Duby’s launched their first ‘Best Chocolate Cookbook in the world’, which also had a focus on blending sweet and savoury ingredients. The limited edition desserts within the 2018 World Cake Series are available to pre-order via the online boutique for collection at Wild Sweets® chocolate-making lab and factory store factory store in Richmond (Unit 2145 – 12191 Hammersmith Way). The boutique will be open every Friday between 12PM to 530 PM, Saturday between 10AM – 4PM and every Sunday between 12PM – 4PM.
