Dig into traditional Afghan cuisine in a modern setting at this bustling eatery. Their slogan is simple: locally sourced and crafted with love. One visit here is all it takes to prove they’re living up to that message. It’s also a good place to go with a group if you love sharing platters and sampling a variety of eats. Dominion Bar + Kitchen

This social hub is the place to be if you’re looking to nosh on elevated pub cuisine and sip on craft beer. Their menu is chalked full of tasty eats from chicken wings, tacos and sliders to dim sum and poke bowls. Brunch lovers must stop by on weekends to try their savoury cheese waffles or their ‘dirty’ breakfast bowl which will likely become your newest hangover cure. My Shanti

Brought to Surrey by one of Vancouver’s most prominent chefs. Vikram Vij has two other establishments and My Shanti is his first venture outside Vancouver. The concept of the restaurant is based upon Vij’s own personal and culinary journeys throughout India. Experience a taste of India with its selection of smooth cocktails and comfort food with a kick. Tap Restaurant

Tap has been around for over a decade and keeps the regulars coming back for more with its French-inspired cuisine and weekly live music. It offers a memorable dining experience with outstanding food and a fun atmosphere. Try their rack of lamb with polenta and poached figs or the classic duck leg with curried lentils and a sweet and sour apricot sauce. Tap Restaurant is located at 15350 34th Avenue.

Much like its name suggests, this spot is all about pho and other noodles made popular in Vietnam. They have a little bit of everything from beef rice noodle bowls and stir-fried noodles to vermicelli bowls and Banh Mi, a Vietnamese-style sandwich. One of their biggest specialties is their chicken pho, which they call ‘the cold remedy.’ It features ginger-poached chicken breast, chicken meatballs and a chicken broth. One of Surrey’s most popular long-standing restaurants, with classic French fare featuring local ingredients including lamb and veal from the owner’s Chilliwack farm.
