5 Charming Cafes to Discover in Surrey

When exploring a new or even my city, more than monuments, shopping malls and also, restaurants, I search for cafes. Outside of getting my caffeine fix and people watching, the reason is that this is where you get to see the community of where you are.

The cafes are where the conversations are, the interactions of locals and visitors, coming and going. Our lovely city is in the spotlight with its development, and with it, more coffee shops!

There are these charming cafés in Surrey that will make you want to stay longer than intended, whether that’s getting solid work done or getting lost in the atmosphere and dialogue.

There’s a special feeling of being at home complimented with knowing you are in a café. Inside Prado Café, the bright walls, warm colours, and elegant layout complimented by the décor is the perfect place to get your caffeine fix. The newest addition to their many locations in the lower mainland, the service, taste, and aesthetics do not disappoint. I recommend the espresso.

Reading in cafes is a favourite pastime of mine, in the early morning, I was able to get a few pages in before my company arrived. There’s indeed a sense of community in Cuatro, and it could be because it’s located steps away from Save-on-Foods, the background noise of conversation and catch up brings up the feelings of why its great meet friends at cafes. I recommend the London fog.

If there’s one word, I will use to describe Coffee Monster, its collaborative. The open space is designed for productivity and caters to anyone wanting to get work done while enjoying desserts. There is a large selection of drinks and sweets; I recommend the tiramisu.

High ceilings adorned with silver-string light, this quaint and picturesque café emulates the ultimate cozy vibe.  In addition to the customary two patron seating there are larger tables that cater to families which fits the community where it is stationed. I recommend the hot chocolate.

With an outdoor plaza, this cafe is in a prime location steps away from the Surrey Centre Library and Skytrain. Located within Surrey City Hall, there is plenty of traffic from staff, students and passersby. With ample seating available, ready-made sandwiches and a great selection of drinks it’s a great place to be on any weekday.
