Event Details

The Greater Vancouver Garden Railway Club returns to Historic Stewart Farm June 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., offering tons of locomotive fun for Father's Day.

Once again, this free, family-friendly event will showcase large-scale locomotives and accessories from the GVGRC, as well as a variety of hands-on activities for all ages, including a chance to tour the historic site, located at 13723 Crescent Road in South Surrey.

“Our Father’s Day event is one of our most popular celebrations here at the farm because the kid in all of us loves the magic of trains,” said Jerrilin Spence, curator of the site.

“It gives dads and their families, no matter their ages, free passes to be kids again themselves.”

During the event, attendees can also enjoy a train ride – by cash donation – courtesy of the Pacific Trackless Trains, youngsters can make a conductor’s hat craft, partake in some complimentary cookies and lemonade on the farmhouse veranda, and challenge Dad to Victorian-era themed lawn games.

The Historic Stewart Farm is located at 13723 Crescent Road in South Surrey. Additional parking is located in the west parking lot of Elgin Heritage Park, approximately 400 meters west of the main entrance. Site hours are Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, and Saturday, 12noon to 4pm and Sunday, 12noon to 4:00pm. Entrance is by donation.
