Join us as Rungh Magazine pops up in the Gallery to support increasing the representation of women and non-binary artists on Wikipedia.

There’s a noticeable gender gap on Wikipedia. Many studies have measured this gap. Some have estimated female contributors at a total percentage of 9%; the highest studies say 13%. Gender inequities on Wikipedia lead to a bias in content and language and contribute to the erasure of knowledges and histories.

We would like your help to address this gap! We invite people of all gender identities and expressions to participate in making an impact on women, gender, feminism, and the arts on one of the world’s most popular sites.

Pre-editing Workshop | February 23, 12:30pm

At the pre-editing workshop, you'll learn how to begin your research, create Wikipedia pages, and keep them online. It is highly recommended, though not required, to attend the workshop prior to the Edit-a-thon.

Edit-a-thon | March 16, 124pm

Participants are asked to bring a laptop and power cord to both the pre-editing workshop and the Edit-a-thon. Come with ideas for entries that need updating or creating. You could even consider writing about one of the women in the Gallery’s permanent collection.
