Heartwarming: Historic Fashion Show

In association with the New Westminster Museum's feature exhibition The Heat Is On: Keeping Warm Then, Keeping Cool Now, Guest Curator Ivan Sayers presents a historic fashion show just in time for Valentine’s weekend. This lighthearted show will illustrate how women over the last century have dressed to keep warm or stay cool, but still remain chic. We will show everything from flannelette bloomers, miniskirts, and ski suits to dresses for the holiday escape.

Vancouver’s iconic fashion historian Ivan Sayers has one of the most comprehensive historic clothing collections in North America.  In his fashion shows, models wear items from his teaching collection, while Ivan provides social context with his dry humour.
