Legendary GULZAR Sahab in Vancouver !

Film maker and one of the greatest & acclaimed Urdu poet , author & lyricist Sampooran Singh Kalra aka Gulzar Sahab is coming to Vancouver for his only Canadian stop on Sunday , September 15nth during his North American Tour of GULZAR Ek EHSAS for an evening of Poetry , Ghazal & Music at BELL Performing Art Centre , Surrey.

It's indeed a proud moment for all Vancouvrites & British Columbians that Gulzar Sahab , the only Urdu & Punjabi writer & lyricist to have won an Academy award , Grammy , BAFTA , Sahitya Academy , Padma Shri , Padma Bhushan , Dada Saheb Phalke award , Four National awards & 21 Film Fare awards during his illustrious career of 59 years , chose to come to Vancouver for a unique concept where Dr. Rakshanda Jalil , a prominent author , historian & poetess from Delhi , will talk to Gulzar Sahab about his early life in Pakistan , his start as poet , author & lyricist in Bombay ( now Mumbai ) & his film making.

Indeed it would be quite a musical atmosphere where Gulzar Sahab will introduce his favourite songs with poetry and they would be sung by known singers like Hrishikesh Ranade , Swarada Gokhle & Jitendra Abhyankar to the live orchestra.
