NEWTON NEWS – Community Walk

NEWTON COMMUNITY WALKS – Friday SEPTEMBER 4

The events will begin at the BIA office at 7380 King George Blvd. at 9 a.m. the first Friday of every month.

Those who show up will walk along a 1.5 kilometre route to identify and report on problem sites and clean up the streets.

Adopt-A-Street

The Newton BIA has adopted the following streets through the City of Surrey’s Adopt-Street Program:
72nd Avenue from King George Blvd. to 138th Street
King George Blvd. from 68th Avenue to 78th Avenue
137th Street from 72nd Avenue to 74th Avenue

Identifying & Reporting Problem Sites

During the Community Walk, the Newton BIA will also be identifying problem sites, such as graffiti, illegal signage, abandoned shopping carts, illegal dumping, problem properties, illegal signage and reporting to the City via the “Surrey Requests app”. Want to Get Involved?

The Community Walk is scheduled for the first Friday of every month @ 9am. We will meet at the Newton BIA Office, and all supplies will be provided. If you are planning to join us, we ask that you let us know the Wednesday before a scheduled Community Walk.
