Surrey’s Civic Hotel Sign Installation Time-Lapse and Cool Facts

Located in the heart of Surrey, Civic Hotel is the first world-class hotel to be built in the area in more than two decades. With a stunning facade and conveniently located next to Surrey City Centre Skytrain light rail station, Civic Hotel, Autograph Collection provides easy access to the entire region.

A hub for business and leisure travellers, the hotel offers 144 uniquely designed guest rooms characterized by warm earth tones and themes that represent the culture and natural beauty of British Columbia. It also features state of the art conference and meeting spaces, premium amenities and services, an exceptional culinary experience, and the area’s only rooftop deck that offers panoramic views of the city and coastal mountains.

At the peak of this building, hangs the Civic Hotel sign manufactured by the team at TDH Experiential Fabricators. It is nearly 13 feet high and looks over the the city of Surrey. Our city is currently experiencing a transformation and is on its way to becoming the next major hotspot outside of Vancouver. Civic Hotel is a symbol of that.

  • The ‘Civic’ letters are over 6′ tall and the diamond logo over 13′ tall. In a visibility study it was calculated the letters would be able to be seen/read from over 1.5 km’s with the diamond logo being recognizable from much further than that!
  • The letters are made out of thick aluminum and the illuminated faces are made of a plastic called polycarbonate which is bulletproof! This will help with high winds and any birds that might crash into it. 🙂
  • It is the highest mounted sign in Western Canada.
