Right now FortisBC is offering rebates of up to $1000 on new high efficiency boilers. Old boilers can be as little as 60% efficient, meaning up to 40% of the energy they consume is wasted. By comparison, new high efficiency boilers are over 90% efficient. The rebate can rise to up to $1500 if you install a combination boiler. A combination boiler will replace both your boiler and hot water tank to provide hot water for both home heating and tap water.
