Water damage has now surpassed fire as the number one cause of home insurance claims in BC. Water heater leakage is one of the main causes of water damage.

That’s why it is important to replace your water heater at the first sign of leakage, or even before if it is in an area where leakage will cause major damage (if your hot water tank is over 8 years old, leakage might not even be covered by your insurance).

In addition to the models featured above, we have several other models available. These includes 50 and 60 gallon hot water tanks, power vented hot water tanks, and condensing hot water tanks (which qualify for a $1000 FortisBC rebate).

We can repair hot water tanks. However, we usually only recommend them if a tank is about 5 years old or less. This is because, according to a survey by Appliance Magazine, the average life of a gas hot water tank is 9 years.

This means that repairs are usually only a good idea on newer tanks or when a minor repair is required. If any sign of leakage is present, repairs are highly inadvisable. If you think your water heater might be repairable, we can come out and diagnose the problem for $89. We will then let you know how much it will cost to fix.

Most hot water tanks now have an 8 year warranty against leakage. If your tank is leaking, we can check the warranty for you and replace it. We can do this for all major manufacturers even if we were not the original installing company.

However, the warranty only includes the tank, so you will still have to pay for labour, other parts, permit, etc. (Unless you purchased an add-on parts and labour warranty). We can repair both gas and electric hot water tanks.

We also offer tankless water heaters. These systems never run out of hot water and use up to 40% less energy than hot water tanks. However, most homeowners still choose hot water tanks since tankless systems are much more expensive over $4500 for a high efficiency system that qualifies for government/utility rebates.
